Production Specialist: Longwood University, A.V. Services | November 2012-August 2016

Working for Audio Visual Services at Longwood University was an interesting and rewarding challenge as it really was very much a jack of all trades role.

 

In this position, I functioned, not only as an event specialist for any number of events happening all over campus, but also as the Resident Technical Director, Lighting Designer, and Master Electrician for the Jarman Auditorium. 

 

Along with all of the live event production that this job entailed, I also helped design and operate a small video production studio that was used primarily to assist faculty in the creation of online lecture content.

 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Function as Resident Technical Director, Lighting Designer, and Master Electrician for all events in The Jarman Hall Auditorium

  • Coordinate load in/out of events ranging from single speakers reading to fully staged concerts and plays for all major campus venues

  • Oversee elements of pre-production, filming, editing, post-production, and distribution for various live and recording programing

  • Production (audio, video, lighting, and GFX) for Longwood Digital Assessment Conference

  • Safety coordination for the Jarman Auditorium venue
